From textbooks to Hearts
"The general impression, confirmed and reinforced by the official celebration of Independence, that Pakistan became free on 14th August is not correct. The Indian Independence Bill, which was introduced in the British Parliament on 4th July and which became law on 15th July, laid down that the two new Dominions of India and Pakistan shall become free at the midnight of 14-15 August.
So as it was 14-15 what is the priority the date of independence or the happiness of independence some may disagree and some may not and as for normal population of Pakistan this debate doesn't even matter definitely not closing eyes for facts and figures that pakistan and not to India. It is in a sense to claim that pakistan is not same but totally different from India in every way i.e, culturally , historically, linguistically even when it is proved otherwise with evidence simply we achieved our independence and we will not forget those who help us to achieve this independence .

Freedom or independence means that our lives are shaped by personal priorities rather than external constraints or social pressures. It means we are able to follow our own deepest values and exercise our judgment even when others disagree or disapprove mainly a separate homeland for Muslims .To maintain independence, we must recognize our natural human tendency to assimilate--to gradually conform our ideas to those of groups or leaders that we like.Because group dynamics encourage conformity, independence can create situations that are uncomfortable. Though sometimes awkward, the presence of independent thinkers is a gift to all because it keeps a group from falling into shared illusion or error.

As we study and learnt from our school books about azadi that It was the 14th of August when the Muslims of the subcontinent were able to get a land of their own, where they could live life according to their religion. 14th August 1947, Pakistan gained Independence after remarkable efforts made our Mr. Muhammad Ali Jinnah who was a man of great caliber and had the belief that Muslims could only live happily when they would own a country led by their own people and a country that would be according to the ideology of Islam. The Muslims of the subcontinent gave many sacrifices for several years as they were not allowed to practice their own religion with freedom as they were the minority. However, the efforts made by people like Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal and Sir Syed Ahmed Khan made sure that their sacrifices did not go in vain and they were able to provide the Muslims an independent homeland.
